Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and also the world! First of all, Prague is super reachable because of its location. It is a capital of Czech Republic which is located in Central Europe, close to everything! You can get there by plane, by train or by bus. Public transport in Prague is really highly developed!
Prague is a city of 100 spires! I cannot really say what it is but Prague definitely has something magical! It is not just beautiful. There is something more, something amazing and incredible which makes the city so special!
For me, it is even more incredible because I associate Prague with Erasmus+ which means that it is amazing! All the atmosphere I got there was made by people. But the place also matters. We were never bored in Prague! There is so much to see and so much to do. You never get tired of those views.
Prague has so many viewpoints where you can catch some good shots. There are not just two or three places for the best view. There are a bunch of them!
This is one of my favourite places in Prague. It is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished at the beginning of the 15th century. It is super old but still does its function. Nowadays this bridge is for pedestrians only! It is awesome! During daytime it gets super crowded, there are many artists and sellers and tourists. If you want to feel the real charm of this bridge then I would recommend to skip some sleep and to go there at night or at the time of the sunrise. There will be no one! And it will help you to discover the beauty of Charles Bridge. You will be amazed!
This is one of my favourite views of Prague! From here you can see bridges, you can see the river and you can see the spires of Prague. This is a large park on Letná hill, built on a plateau above steep embankments along the Vltava River. Letná’s elevation and location give us amazing view of the landscape.
Old Town of Prague is really special! When you are there you can’t really feel that you are in the middle of the third biggest city in Europe. It is made that cars don’t get inside of it and you don’t feel disturbed by transport. it is really walkable however it is covered with pavement.
Prague has the biggest castle in Europe. If you guys think that it is Versailles then I have to say that you are wrong. (Versailles has bigger garden which gives additional territory for that palace). Prague’s castle town is known also because of St.Vitus Cathedral which is located there. It is the biggest cathedral in the Czech Republic and one of the most extensive in whole Europe. Castle Town is located on the hill which makes it even more classy.
Beer is really cheap and good
If you will check the list of countries by beer consumption per capita then you will find that the Czech Republic is in the first place. Czech people drink the most of beer! And why not if it is cheaper than a water! Wikipedia says that they drink 142.6 L of beer per year! The second place is taken by Seychelles and they drink 114.6 L per year. However, this is crazy! But I have to admit that beer is really good there! Those guys probably know what they do. And also I can say you that it is allowed in Prague to drink in public. Take your drink and go to chill in the park. In summers they have beer gardens which have pretty good views. That is cool!
There are so much of red roofs in Prague. They are mostly for historical buildings but they still keep to blend in this style which is nice. They preserve their heritage and provide us with nice views.
And many, many more things… I could continue forever but there would not be enough space to describe how amazing Prague is!
There are so many things which make Prague simply awesome! There are also some circumstances why Prague was lucky with its architecture and historical heritage. It was a capital of Roman Empire when Charles IV was the Emperor of it. He made so many things such as the Charles Bridge, Prague’s Castle, he developed education there. Charles University is one of the biggest universities in the Czech Republic. He is a really important person if we talk about Prague and its history. Later, because of Prague’s geographical location and hills, it didn’t get very damaged during World Wars. This is why we still can see so many historical areas and buildings.
It must be obvious but I will say it again that I love Prague! It is definitely one of my top 3 favourite cities! I feel so lucky that I got the opportunity to live there for one year! I highly recommend you to go there! Next time I will give you a list of places you must see in Prague!
